How it works

Follow these steps to turn your PDFs into a print-ready package for MPC. You’ll use your source app to export PDFs, Tarot Fill to process them, and optionally the MPC Autofill desktop app to place your order.

Step 1: Download PDFs

Export PDFs from your game app (e.g. save to your phone as PDFs). Use Tarot Fill to process them. You’ll need 6 PDFs: landscape cards, operative selection, faction rules, faction equipment, strategy ploys, and firefight ploys.

Step 2: Track double-faced cards

Important! Depending on your faction, some cards are double sided. For example, your Captain might be single sided, but the Sergeants cards are double sided.

Look through your PDFs and note which pages are fronts (the first side of a double-sided card). For example, one faction might track these fronts for their landscape cards: 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.

As a rule of thumb, Faction Equipment, Strategy Ploys, and Firefight Ploys are usually single sided. Landscape card PDFs or faction rules may have double-sided cards — check your PDFs to be sure.

Step 3: Extract cards

In Tarot Fill, upload your 6 PDFs. Mark which pages are fronts for any double-sided cards, then click Extract All Cards. The tool will produce tarot-sized card images (2.75″ × 4.75″ with bleed), with landscape cards first, then the rest.

Step 4: Assign cardbacks

You can leave cardbacks blank or upload your own designs. If you upload your own, use tarot-sized images (70mm × 121mm, or 2.75″ × 4.75″). The app can auto-assign one landscape and one portrait cardback to the right cards — double check that everything looks correct. When you’re ready, click Download MPC Package to get a ZIP containing cards.xml and a cards/ folder of images.

Step 5: Print

You can upload the generated images manually to MakePlayingCards.com, or use the MPC Autofill desktop tool to automate the order. Download it here: mpc-autofill v4.7.

To use Tarot cards instead of standard playing cards, edit the constants.py file in the Autofill tool and set:

starting_url_route="design/design-your-own-tarot-cards.html",

With that change, the Autofill tool will open MPC’s Tarot card builder and the rest of the process should run as usual.

Tarot size: All card images from this tool are 2.75″ × 4.75″ with bleed, compatible with MPC’s tarot product and home cutting guides.

Print Updates tab

If you only need to print a subset of cards (e.g. new releases or replacements), use the Print Updates tab in the tool. Upload up to 5 PDFs, choose which pages to include, and generate one combined PDF — either one card per page (professional) or multiple cards per 8.5×11 sheet (home cutting).
